The Peace Bird book was published by Native Council in 2011 and features the writing of Eletino Paddy Walker and the beautiful illustrations of Nannette Lela’ulu.
This little book is made up of inspiring messages from the Peace Bird – she tells of peace and how to find it.
It also tells the story about Tiana and Tama who lived with their mother and father in a village on a beautiful Pacific Island filled with flowers and trees and birds and surrounded by sandy shores and a blue green sea. Right in the centre of the village was the place where everyone loved to gather at the end of the day. It was the special place where Peace Bird would often fly around when she was looking for Tama and Tiana who was their best friend. They loved to be with Peace Bird for they knew her words would help them create a happier life in a better world.
